Great accountants perhaps.
There seems to be a lot going on at Sharky park and not just finally winning one.
You have to wonder seeing they went so well in 2016 whether it was carry over benefits from peptides or they found some new incentive to play well.
Whatever it is they earned their win and now seem to have cash and players to burn.
It just seems to good to be true sort of like a fairy tale you don't want to wake up from but my money is on Fifita or someone to bust the bubble unfortunately.
Barba signed for 12 months. Strange one - he can't play for 12 rounds (weeks ?). Must want to train with them ?
French rugby giants Toulon have announced that banned NRL premiership-winning fullback Ben Barba will switch codes and play for them for the rest of the Top 14 season. "Ben Barba will arrive in Toulon next week," read a statement on Toulon's website on Tuesday night AEDT.
If true - I'd ban him from the NRL.
If its true it is just a sneaky way of circumventing any penalty imposed for his dalliance on the happy juice.
He should be banned from playing NRL until he actually sits on the sidelines for the number of games he has been penalised or take the Nrl to court for restraint of trade.
If he wants to go play another code that is happy for him to ignore a drug violation then good luck to him and the code
Yes - good idea. 14 weeks - regardless of when it starts. So if he comes back at Round 14 from RU - he misses the rest of the season.
Ben will enjoy the wine.
The NRL said today that Ben Barba’s 12 match ban will not begin until he has completed any overseas sporting commitments.
sounds like the Nrl is finally starting to make some solid decisions if they follow through.
Barba probably wont care but it might make other players think twice
I fear BB is the sort of bloke who will take the RU millions - spend well - and end up broke. Then the Legends will be asking us to help out.
But - the RU offer is pretty good.
Barba has accepted long-term contract offer with Toulon Rugby Union Club in France.
He is also looking at the RU Tens coming up in Qld.
Good luck to him if that's the way he wants to go. He has been very unsettled in NRL for a couple of years and last year at the sharks was his best both on and off the field but you would hope it wasn't because he was on the funny stuff.
The RU would have their noses out of joint if they suspended a player and he hopped across to NRL to avoid the ban.
Valentine Holmes has signed a contract-extension that will see him remain at the Sharks through until at least the end of the 2019 season.
Edrick Lee for 2 years.
not sure if he suits their style of play but good luck to him
Interesting about the carry over benefits of peptides- sometimes you see the obvious effects of steroids in building muscle and it is still there years after any ban, Clinton schifcofske is one that comes to mind
I do remember Clinton was very fast but there wasn't much in the way of tests to see if it was natural or enhanced genetic talent in his day
March 24, 1997 it was confirmed that he had tested positive for steroids. Kept quiet by the arl because the super league war was on. He was so skinny before and broke so many tackles when he ran afterwards, his photo on wiki is definitely after
Feki re-signed for two more years.
