No it wasn't, a bit harsh IMO....I thought 3-4 wks would have been appropriate.
One day....it's all gonna catch up with Billy and he'll get smashed.
Mathew Ridge get rubbed out for a number of weeks for leading with his feet against Illawarra when trying to stop a try?
B.J. Leilua of Newcastle Knights (Dangerous Throw) will play this weekend if he pleads guilty, but if he fights and loses he'll miss a week.
Update: B.J Leilua takes early guilty plea and is free to play this weekend, Round 11.
Any news on Darius and Uate? Newcastle will definitely struggle to win games without those two.
Uate came back from injury too soon. He's not 100%.
INJURY UPDATE - Darius Boyd to have scans on the Knights' return to NSW tomorrow - suspected broken leg
Snowden faces three game NRL suspension
Mon 22nd July, 1:23pm
Newcastle prop Kade Snowden is facing a three-week NRL suspension after being charged for a raised knee that left Penrith's Adam Docker with a fractured cheekbone.
The NRL match review committee slapped Snowden with a grade two dangerous contact charge for the third-minute incident at Centrebet Stadium on Sunday.
The two-time NSW representative faces a two-game suspension with an early guilty plea, or three if he contests the charge at the judiciary on Wednesday night and loses.
No on-field action was taken against Snowden, the "dubious knee" angering Panthers coach Ivan Cleary.
"... Our man Adam Docker stayed down having made a tackle, but the play went on and in the end there was no repercussions for it except that he's got a fractured cheekbone," Cleary said post-match.
"I'm not happy about that."
Meanwhile, Panthers forward Mose Masoe could be ruled out of Sunday's clash with Cronulla after being charged for his second-half hit on Knights back-rower Robbie Rochow.
The grade-one careless high tackle charge attracts just 67 points with an early guilty plea, but when coupled with carryover points from an earlier charge it ensures Masoe is facing a one-week suspension.
Didn't see the Snowden incident, but I heard it looked quite bad.
Jarrod Mullin may be out with a hammy - done in the Nines.
Hopefully not for to long. He would be a massive loss for Newcastle.
Out for 4 months - at least.
Darbs out - 3 weeks ?
Knights fullback Darius Boyd faces an extended stint on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a grade-two hamstring tear, and playmakers Kurt Gidley and Tyrone Roberts remain under a concussion cloud for the game against Canberra at Hunter Stadium on Sunday night.
The loss of Boyd, the club’s player of the year last season, means the Knights will be without their two most influential players for upcoming games against the Raiders, Storm (away) and Sharks (home), and probably longer.
Regular five-eighth Jarrod Mullen, who enjoyed a career-best season last year, is nursing a torn hamstring suffered in the Auckland Nines last month and, although he is confident of returning ahead of schedule, he is not due back until June.

Newcastle Knights' Alex McKinnon placed in induced coma....
Is there anything we can do? Is there an on-line tribute page or something so he can see his support when they bring him out of the comma?
The only thing that people can do besides the odd prayer, would be to send a message of support to Alex, this can be done either on the Knights Forum page: www.marathonstadium.com/forums, they have a special thread called "Send a message to Alex"...or the Knights also have this:
"Messages of support for Alex and his family can be emailed to email@example.com.
All messages we receive will be given to Alex and his family at the appropriate time.
A real shame about McKinnon. All the best for the future and hopefully a good recovery.
This was sent from WLF via the Knights email.
