Rory Kostjasyn has been forced into retirement. He has been unable to overcome a throat injury he suffered during the pre-season. Pity - was a useful player. Wish him all the best.
Good for the NRL but good for the club?. We will have to wait and see how the Wests mob handle the Knights although they seem to have good business acumen
Another club the Dragons played into form. I tipped the Knights to be a big improvement in 2018 but they seem to be finishing 2017 with a spark.
Aug 22, 2017 5:46am By Candice Mehta-Culjak The brave teenager who captured the hearts of Australians everywhere when she attended her high school formal with NRL star Trent Hodkinson has tragically passed away from cancer. Hannah Rye, 15, died over the weekend after a two-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma -- a rare form of cancer that caused tumours to grow around her spine. She has been remembered by family and friends as inspiring. Hodkinson's commitment to charities is well-known, with the player an ambassador for both Give Me 5 for Kids and RSPCA and his TREN7S Kick for Kids initiative in which he dedicates games to sick kids and writes their name on his kicking tee. Our thoughts are with Hannah’s family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time.
Coach Brown has signed some players who might fit nicely into the team he is building. While ending up "spoon" contenders in 2017 they showed enough that they could even be a chance at 8th spot in 2018
What a problem - Newcastle can't spend their Cap money. They MUST spend 95% of the Cap each year ( to ensure lesser players get a fair share). They may have to "forward-end" payments. A good position as it would leave them with more cash to spend in 2019.
The Newcastle Knights have provided an update on Tautau Moga post shoulder operation stating he will start pre-season training next week & is expected to be back playing sometime in March.
Chanel Mata-Utia released. I remember when this lot were considered the cream - now they are all leaving.
Knights have reportedly offered Mitchell Pearce a 5 year contract. Not a bad deal really for him - notwithstanding their position.
