Not a bad looking team there. Should get a few more wins than 2017.
Trent Hodkinson released.
Knights beat Melbourne in trial Nothing to worry about.
It wasn't their best side - but it is a good sign for the Novocastrians.
A good team that will be one of the big improvers in 2018 IMO. Don't expect instant success though as it will take time to incorporate virtually a whole team of new recruits. The Roosters reunion of Pearce, Watson, Guerra and Kenny-Dowall should compliment the Knights nicely and they will be keen to send a message to the Roosters organisation that showed them the door when they all learned the hard way that with the Roosters, expedience trumps loyalty. What else can you expect when the man at the helm, Nick Politis, has the personal motto: "sibi quisque" (every man for themselves).
I would play Buhrer at hooker though instead of Levi who is just not ready yet IMO and bring Fitzgibbon or Griffin into the side to replace him.
Jesse Ramien from 2019 - a useful squad being assembled by Brownie.
Brownie - extension for 3 years - based on performance. He can only go up I guess ...
19 - 18
It was a close result....just the barest of slaps in it at the final hooter
Dylan Pythian released due to second contravention under the NRL’s Illicit Drugs Policy, which automatically incurs a 12-match suspension.
Sniffing around Leeson Ah Mau.
Well played Newcastle.
22 - 20
Rumour they have made a big offer to Leeson - 3 years - so he'd have to consider it. I'd be sorry to see him go but its his life.
Hard to believe the offer amount - but not the acceptance ...
Tim Glassby ?
You would think the Knights might have a season or two to go before they get out from under the Tinkler/Bennett financial issues like the ones at the Dragons.
Brown does however have the makings of a good team and it could be a top 8 side in 2019.
Direct replacement for likely retiring Lillyman and Heighington.
