Good win to NQ.
It's all turning sour for the Raiders, isn'it? WotIreckon is, it's got a lot to do with their halves. The contrast with Morgan's shrewd organising game was stark: Austin has a good running game, but he is no organiser, and Sezer seems to offer very little except taking the goal kicks these days. I think they rely on Hodgson so much to create an attacking threat and knit the side together, and don't seem to be able to adapt their game when he's not available. And under pressure, they revert to bad habits, ill-discipline, and an abysmal completion rate.
Looking forward to the Storm game.
Well - the Cows another side hoping another team loses if they are to make the finals.
A poor season overall - notwithstanding injuries.
24 - 16
A good win - on to Week 3.
Strong rumours JT and Matt Scott to play on the weekend. Any of you Q'billies heard anything ?
North Queensland Cowboys coach Paul Green has made a shock selection call, naming co-captain Matt Scott on an extended bench seven months after the Australia representative front-rower injured his ACL.
It's an impressive recovery given Scott wasn't expected to begin training until December, and he could be a huge inclusion for the Cowboys with several players – including Coen Hess and Antonio Winterstein – under injury clouds.
Winterstein is understood to have a problem with his rib cartilage, while Hess left the field on a heavily strapped knee last week against the Parramatta Eels.
Besides the surprise inclusion of Scott in jersey 21 Green has named the same 17 that defeated the Eels last weekend.
Hess came on the field with a heavily-strapped knee, as I recall. Not to say he didn't get more later.
You have to credit the Cowboys though for their sterling effort without JT, and plenty of other injury worries too.
Fensom won't be fit for Rd 1.
