Can you remind me how it works?

The coach can only name the run on team from those announced on Tuesday. So if Wayne expects a late scratching, he's better off naming a five or six man bench. Naming seventeen and having a late scratching risks being stuck with a three man bench on game day,

Right? Or have I got wrong or did the rules change recently? Please help @ALX22. :)

I'm pretty sure there is some type of rule or else coaches would constantly select completely different game day teams from the Tuesday night announcement just to give each other the run around.

    I'll look into it further.

I thought you had until 1 or 2 hours before kick off. Not sure on squad. Surely if one withdrew and another pulled a hammy warming up, you could name another ?

You do need to commit on game day "1 or 2 hours before kick off", but I read some where that you need to commit from your initial Tuesday night named team.

This is why you see extended benches named where there is the possibility of a suspension on Wednesday night.

Still trying to sight the rule.....not easy so far.

    Unfortunately the better team won:bag:.
The titans were just outplayed on the night and started to look sluggish or disinterested in defence for most of the 2nd half.
In fact they look like the Dragons usual defence just standing there and waiting for the Broncos attack to reach them virtually ensuring play would always finish up on the titans 30 or 20 metre zone before the Broncos had to kick.
Occasionally the titans defence would spark up and look good when it did.
The Broncos moved forward and snuffed out a lot of titan attack before it could get started.

I can't love them, but the Broncos are sure going to take some stopping this season. Funnily enough, they actually kinda remind of the Dragons. Y'know, back when the Dragons were good.

2010. I wasn't being facetious there, I was quite serious.

Good to see the Titans showing some fight this year. And it was pleasing to actually see a decent crowd at the Stadium...

Crowd must be some sort of local record.

Brisbane Broncos 24 (James Roberts, Ben Hunt, Jordan Kahu, Kodi Nikorima tries; Jordan Kahu 3, Corey Parker goals) def. Gold Coast Titans 16 (Zeb Taia 2, David Mead tries; Ashley Taylor 2 goals) at Cbus Super Stadium. Crowd: 21,080.
