Not me - but some wags were calling Parramatta - Parranesia at one time ...
Shocking I know.
From memory the most Polymerized team to win the GF was Paraneasia in 2009
Fuifui Moimoi - PR
Feleti Mateo - LK
Krisnan Inu - CE
Junior Paulo - SR
Weller Hauraki - SR
Taulima Tautai - CE
Joe Galuvao - SR
Etu Uaisele - WG
Jeremy Latimore - PR
So it can be done, but it's rare and not in itself a winning strategy.
It could also be argued most of the progress made by that team was down to the brilliance of Jarryd Hayne who is indigenous Australian.
Note: For this post Poly includes Maori.
Didn't the Hayne plane play for Fiji or one of those places in the pacific a few years ago when he wasn't in the aussie side?
Well spotted. I was wrong about his being an indigenous Aussie.
He's Aussie born and raised, but his father is Fijian.
With that link to Fiji, Hayne played a 2008 Fijian test in the middle of his 2007-2013 Kangaroo's career.
Not sure how that was allowed to take place, but that's Rep footy for ya.
Good work Stan my friend, I am grateful for the correction.
Stan the Man is generally right ... unfortunately ...
So 10 of them.
Re "win" - I noticed in the Big League for the GF where it showed all GFs - it had "withdrawn" for a few. I always get annoyed when Rabbs and Co still talk as if Melbourne (or those players) won them. We never talk about Lance Armstrong this way.
I live for the day when I am wrong about the Dragons and will be more than happy to eat crow when they put in the effort.
On another note I see there is now a rumor that Phil Goulds great signing an indigenous player Jaimie is supposedly being shopped around by the panthers.
Yes - saw this - 2 years left on contract.
The Cronulla Sharks have secured the services of another former Ipswich Jet, this time coming in the form of backrower Kurt Capewell.
Formerly a centre, Capewell switched to the forward pack midway through the 2015 season where he enjoyed a run of form playing as an edge back rower in the Jets’ expansive game.
Some good players in this team.
Very good signing. Hopefully can learn from Lewis for a season, and then take over.
The Cronulla Sharks have signed Eel Joseph Paulo on a two-year-deal.
Direct replacement for Tupou, and insurance if Graham get's injured.
St Merge can fuck right off, they didn't want him now they want him now that he's a star.
Do the Fagqueens think they're fucking Barcelona selling their stars because they think they're crap and now want them back now that they are good?
He is our junior. Time Cronulla developed their own. We couldn't match the offer to poach him - now we can.
I'd say he'd be mad not to return home.
So was Gerard Fucking Pique but Barcelona didn't want him so they flogged him off to Manchester United and as soon as they realised he was good they got him back again.
So what if he's a Illawarra junior. you lot didn't rate him so we got him but now that you've realised you've fucked up you now want him back.
In a word ..."YES" ...
Be a good game when we play you ...
The sharks have more 5/8ths signed than most other teams. Over the years they have signed more players from St George and also St Merge plus the Tiggers than they have raised themselves.
Like it or not football is a business and money talks more loudly than club loyalty these days.
Mr Sharky will be a lot happier if the NRL splits into two conferences and they get their own team again in SA. Of course if the sharks development falls over they may have to move so becoming the SA wobbegongs could be an option
You also have to admit despite his ups and more down B Ferguson is on fire at the Rorters while Millsy is probably playing park footy and the sharks realy don't know what to do with B Barba of Seville.
That is every St George's fan wet dream but it simply won't happen, there is far too much money riding on this to fall over.
The first lot of units sold out in minutes and when the second lot goes up for sale the same thing will happen, that development is a goldmine for the club.
As far as an Adelaide team returning to the NRL, of course I want that to happen as it means I'll be able to go to live games here every week but when they play Cronulla, my black, white and blue will be on at the game.
Lets hope someone doesn't run off with the profits ...
Fair dinkum you lot are desperate to get rid of us.
We've got our house in order maybe it's time for the Dragons to get theirs in order instead of deathriding other clubs.
As it is it makes more sense for the Dragons to move to Wollongong permanently instead of the current half arsed arrangement of playing half in Sydney and half in Wollongong.
